🔹Prof. Dr. med. habil. David Holzhey previously served as the Deputy Director at the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at the Leipzig Heart Center and brings with him extensive surgical and scientific experience.

🔹The 49-year-old medical professional is taking on the role of leading a well-coordinated team at the Helios Heart Center Wuppertal, known for performing most of its heart valve surgeries in a minimally invasive manner. "Leaky heart valves often don't need to be replaced.

🔹In many cases, we can now reconstruct them using minimally invasive techniques," explains Prof. David Holzhey. The married heart surgeon and father of two sons looks back on 20 years of experience at the renowned Leipzig Heart Center, which closely collaborates with the Medical Faculty of Leipzig University.

🔹During this time, he has personally performed thousands of procedures while simultaneously contributing to the scientific development of the relevant materials and procedures with a spirit of research.
