🔹Prof. Dr. med. Matthias Beckmann completed his medical studies at Albert-Ludwigs University Freiburg, Université catholique de Louvain, Columbia University, the University of Natal, and Université Louis Pasteur.
🔹He earned his doctorate at Albert-Ludwigs University Freiburg and later completed his habilitation after various research stays in Switzerland and the United States in 1995 at Heinrich-Heine University Düsseldorf in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In 2001, he assumed the chair for Obstetrics and Gynecology at Friedrich-Alexander University (FAU) Erlangen-Nuremberg and became the director of the Women's Clinic at the University Hospital Erlangen.
🔹Since 2006, he has been serving as the Chairman of the Board of the Tumor Center Erlangen-Nuremberg, and since 2008, he has been the director of the Comprehensive Cancer Center Erlangen-EMN. He is also a member of various professional societies, including the Leopoldina, the largest science academy in Germany.
🔹In addition, Professor Beckmann is actively involved in voluntary work, including contributions to the Center for Family and Social Affairs in Bavaria (Families in Need) and the Medical Commission of the Contergan Foundation (Assessment of Affected Individuals).
