🔹Prof. Dr. med. Wimberger is a significant gain for the Dresden University Medicine. Her expertise in cancer treatment and her patient-oriented research in this field make her an ideal choice, as does her previous leadership roles at the University Hospital Essen," says Professor Michael Albrecht, Medical Director of the Carl Gustav Carus University Hospital.
🔹In parallel with the appointment process in Dresden, the University Hospital Frankfurt am Main had also shown interest in recruiting the gynecologist. "Professor Wimberger's decision to join us is further evidence of the excellent reputation of Dresden's university medicine," adds Professor Albrecht.
🔹The Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics offers "comprehensive care" With over 12,000 outpatient and 6,000 inpatient patients annually, the Dresden University Women's Clinic is one of the largest facilities of its kind in Eastern Germany.
🔹In addition to the interdisciplinary care of cancer patients and obstetrics, the clinic provides the complete diagnostic and therapeutic spectrum of women's health. This includes the care of high-risk pregnancies and fertility treatments. "I found a clinic here in Dresden that enjoys an excellent reputation among patients, thanks to its comprehensive care and motivated, open-minded staff," says Professor Wimberger.
🔹The 41-year-old gynecologist also made the decision to come to Dresden because of the interdisciplinary collaboration with the cancer experts at the UCC, her membership in the German Consortium "Familial Breast and Ovarian Cancer," and the numerous research projects on oncological issues that have convinced her.
