🔹The General Assembly of the German Cancer Society (DKG) has elected Prof. Dr. med. Peter Albers as the new President of the professional society.
🔹The 53-year-old urologist heads the Department of Urology at the University Hospital Düsseldorf and, in addition to his clinical and scientific work, has been actively involved in the German Cancer Society for many years. Before his election as President of the DKG, Albers previously served as Vice President and was the Congress President of the 31st German Cancer Congress in 2012.
🔹Prof. Dr. med. Peter Albers is recognized as a distinguished specialist in urological cancers. For instance, he leads the scientific direction of the PROBASE study on PSA-based early detection in prostate cancer and serves as a co-study leader in the PREFERE study on locally confined prostate cancer.
🔹Additionally, Albers is dedicated to ensuring high-quality care for prostate cancer patients. His clinical research also focuses on testicular tumors and bladder cancer.
