🔹Prof. Dr. Antonia Joussen holds more than 19 years of experience.
🔹Having completed her medical studies at Ruhr University Bochum and Heidelberg University in Germany in 1990, she initiated her career journey as a research fellow at Boston's Children's Hospital and Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, affiliated with Harvard Medical School, in 1999.
🔹She has been the recipient of numerous honors, including an undergraduate grant from the Cusanuswerk spanning from 1991 to 1996, and a doctoral thesis prize from the German Ophthalmological Society, sponsored by the Wacker Fund, in 1997.
🔹In 2000, she assumed a teaching role at Massachusetts Eye and Ear, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School. Upon her return to Germany, she was granted the Emmy Noether Career Development Grant (Scientific Excellence Program) by the German Research Foundation, which she held from 2002 to 2007

RWTH Aachen, and the University of Cologne.
🔹1999-2001: Postdoctoral Fellowship, including a scholarship from the German
Research Foundation (DFG) and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, at
Children's Hospital Harvard Medical School in Boston.
