🔹Prof. Dr. med. Marcus Jäger's notable journey in the field of medicine can be outlined as follows: In the years spanning from 1992 to 1999, he embarked on his medical education at Philipps-Universität Marburg. During this period, he not only pursued his studies but also accomplished a doctoral degree with distinction (magna cum laude) and obtained his medical licensure (Approbation).

🔹Following this foundational phase, in 1999-2000, he gained practical experience at the Clinic for Trauma, Hand, and Reconstructive Surgery at Klinikum Kassel. In 2000-2001, Prof. Dr. Jäger delved into postgraduate studies in Medical Technology at the University of Kaiserslautern, with a focus on Materials Science, Medical Devices, Genetic Engineering, and Non-Ionizing Techniques in Diagnosis and Therapy.

🔹In 2001, he embarked on a significant chapter in his career by joining the Clinic for Orthopedics at Heinrich-Heine University in Düsseldorf. During his tenure there, he assumed various pivotal roles, beginning as a Research Assistant at the University from 2000 to 2005.

🔹He progressed to attain the titles of Specialist in Orthopedics in 2005 and Specialist in Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery in 2007. His responsibilities expanded further as he served as a Senior Physician (Oberarzt) at the Clinic from 2005 to 2007.

🔹In 2007, he achieved the milestone of completing his Habilitation and obtaining Venia Legendi. This period also saw him taking on the role of Chief Senior Physician and Deputy Clinic Director until 2011.

🔹The year 2006 marked a significant international experience as Prof. Dr. Jäger completed a Fellowship at the Orthopedic Department, Brigham & Women´s Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA, spanning six months. Since 2011, he has been associated with the University of Duisburg-Essen as the Chair of Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery, leading in the academic and clinical domains.

🔹From 2011 to 2014, he held the position of Director of the Clinic for Orthopedics at the University Hospital Essen & the Essen-Werden location. This was followed by a tenure from 2014 to 2019, where he assumed the role of Director of the Clinic for Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery at the University Hospital Essen & the Essen-Werden location.

🔹In 2019 and continuing to the present day, Prof. Dr. Jäger serves as the Director of the Clinic for Orthopedics, Trauma, and Reconstructive Surgery at St. Marien Hospital in Mülheim an der Ruhr, further contributing his expertise to the medical community.
