🔹Dr. med. Karsten Labs' professional journey has been marked by a series of significant achievements and accomplishments in the field of medicine. It all began in 1984 when he embarked on his preclinical year at the University Clinic for Neurology and Psychiatry at Charité in Berlin.

🔹His dedication and passion for the medical field led him to pursue Human Medicine at Humboldt University of Berlin, which he successfully completed in 1991. Following this, Dr. Labs served as a medical intern at various institutions, including the Trauma Surgery Clinic at Oskar-Ziethen Hospital in Berlin-Lichtenberg in 1991 and the Orthopedic University Clinic at Charité in 1992.

🔹In the same year, he obtained his medical license, officially becoming a physician. From 1992 to 1997, Dr. Labs continued to hone his skills as an assistant in training at the Orthopedic University Clinic at Charité in Berlin. During this time, he conducted groundbreaking research, culminating in his 1993 dissertation, which explored the incorporation behavior of an autogenous cruciate ligament graft with differentiated prestress through an animal experimental study. Dr. Labs' commitment to excellence extended beyond Germany's borders.

🔹In 1993-1994, he pursued an Orthopedic Fellowship at the Musculoskeletal Tumor & Limb Reconstruction Center in Philadelphia, USA, further enriching his knowledge and expertise. In 1997, Dr. Labs achieved the title of Specialist in Orthopedic Medicine, and in 1998, he was appointed as a Senior Physician in the Orthopedic University Clinic, specializing in knee, shoulder, and sports orthopedics at Charité in Berlin. His academic journey continued in 2002 when he completed his Habilitation, focusing on "Clinical long-term results and experimental studies on the stimulatability of incorporation and remodeling behavior of an autologous anterior cruciate ligament graft." To complement his orthopedic expertise, Dr. Labs obtained an additional qualification in Sports Medicine in 2005.

🔹Between 2004 and 2005, he served as the Chief Physician at the Center for Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery at the Municipal Hospital in Brandenburg an der Havel. In 2006, Dr. Labs successfully passed his specialist examination, earning the title of Specialist in Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery. His commitment to continuous learning and expanding his skill set led him to obtain an additional qualification in Radiology in 2009. From 2005 to 2016, he held the esteemed position of Chief Physician in the Orthopedic Department at the Asklepios Clinic in Birkenwerder.

🔹Since 2017, Dr. med. Karsten Labs has served as the Chief Physician at the Clinic for Trauma Surgery and Orthopedics, also holding the title of Department Head of the Department of Movement Surgery at Vivantes Humboldt Hospital in Berlin.
