🔹Prof. Dr. med. Margit Fisch, aged 47, is Germany's first female professor in the field of Urology.
🔹She will assume the W-3 professorship at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) in early December, succeeding Prof. Dr. med. Hartwig Huland.
🔹Currently, Fisch serves as the Chief Physician at the Urological Center of Asklepios Klinik Harburg in Hamburg. She is widely recognized nationally and internationally as a distinguished clinician and scientist.
🔹Born in Saarland, she studied medicine in Homburg. She completed her specialist medical training in Luxembourg and at the Mainz University Hospital. There, she obtained her habilitation and became a Senior Physician in 1993.
🔹In 2000, Fisch took over as the head of the Pediatric Urology department at Asklepios Klinik Hamburg. In 2005, the University of Mainz appointed her as an Associate Professor. Her primary areas of scientific and clinical expertise are reconstructive Urology, especially complex urinary diversion procedures and urethral reconstruction, as well as Pediatric Urology.
