🔹Professor Kiechle's (*1960) research focuses on gynecological oncology, particularly emphasizing hereditary cancers in women and the establishment of individualized cancer targets. Her clinical research primarily centers on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of women's tumors. Consequently, interdisciplinary, internationally certified centers for breast cancer and gynecological cancers have been established in the clinic.
🔹After completing her studies, licensing (1986), and doctorate (1987) in Freiburg, Prof. Kiechle was a fellow of the German Research Foundation (DFG) from 1987 to 1989 and spent a year at the Cancer Center of the Southwest Biomedical Research Institute in the USA.
🔹Following her tenure as a scientific assistant and habilitation in Freiburg (1995), she moved to Kiel, where she served as Senior Consultant at the University Women's Clinic (1996-2000).
🔹Since October 2000, Prof. Kiechle has been the Director of the Women's Clinic at the Klinikum rechts der Isar of the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Additionally, she is a board member of the German Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics (DGGG) and an adjunct professor at the Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel. From March to November 2018, Prof. Kiechle served as the Bavarian State Minister for Science and Art.
