🔹Univ.-Prof. Dr. med. Wolfram T. Knoefel's illustrious medical journey began with his early education in South Tyrol, culminating in a High School Diploma in 1974. He continued his academic path at Leopold-Franzens University in Innsbruck, earning a Doctor of Medicine Degree in November 1979.

🔹His postgraduate training included an internship at Merano State Hospital and specialist training at the I. 🔹Worked as a research assistant at the Surgical Clinic Innenstadt and Surgical Polyclinic of Ludwig Maximilians University, Munich, under the direction of Professor L. Schweiberer from 1987 to 1989.

🔹Served as a fellow at the Departments of Surgery, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Harvard Medical School, Boston, under the mentorship of Professors W.G. Austen, M.D., and A.L. Warshaw, M.D., from 1989 to 1991.

🔹Worked as a research assistant at the Surgical Clinic Innenstadt and Surgical Polyclinic of Ludwig Maximilians University, Munich, under the direction of Professor L. Schweiberer in 1991.

🔹Held the position of a research assistant at the Surgical Clinic, Department of General Surgery, University Hospital Eppendorf, Hamburg, from 1991 to 2003 under the leadership of Professor C.E. Broelsch (until April 1998) and Professor J.R. Izbicki (since April 1998).

🔹Worked as an assistant physician at the Elisabeth-Krankenhaus Essen's Surgical Clinic from May 1 to October 31, 1992, under the direction of Professor V.M. Rötzscher.

🔹Received recognition as a specialist in surgery in 1994.
