🔹Univ.-Prof. Dr. med. Wolfram T. Knoefel's illustrious medical journey began with his early education in South Tyrol, culminating in a High School Diploma in 1974. He continued his academic path at Leopold-Franzens University in Innsbruck, earning a Doctor of Medicine Degree in November 1979.
🔹His postgraduate training included an internship at Merano State Hospital and specialist training at the I. University Clinic for Surgery in Innsbruck, where he became a Specialist in Surgery in June 1987. His academic achievements extended to a habilitation in General Surgery in 1991, focusing on the immunological monitoring of pancreas allotransplants.
🔹By March 2004, he held the role of Deputy Head of the Clinical Department for General and Transplant Surgery at the University Clinic for Surgery in Innsbruck. Polyclinic of Ludwig Maximilians University, Munich, under the direction of
Professor L. Schweiberer from 1987 to 1989.

Hospital, and Harvard Medical School, Boston, under the mentorship of
Professors W.G. Austen, M.D., and A.L. Warshaw, M.D., from 1989 to 1991.
🔹Worked as a research assistant at the Surgical Clinic Innenstadt and Surgical
Polyclinic of Ludwig Maximilians University, Munich, under the direction of
Professor L. Schweiberer in 1991.

General Surgery, University Hospital Eppendorf, Hamburg, from 1991 to 2003 under
the leadership of Professor C.E. Broelsch (until April 1998) and Professor J.R.
