🔹Prof. Dr. med. Dr. h.c. Hans-Ulrich Häring has been the Medical Director of the Department of Internal Medicine IV at Eberhard Karls University Tübingen since 1996. In this role, he oversees areas such as Endocrinology and Diabetology, Angiology, Nephrology, and Clinical Chemistry within the Medical Clinic and Polyclinic. Prior to his current position, he served as a Senior Physician (Oberarzt) at the III. Medical Department of the Hospital München-Schwabing and at the Institute for Diabetes Research starting from 1988.

🔹Prof. Häring achieved a significant milestone in 1987 when he completed his Habilitation and was appointed as a Privatdozent for Internal Medicine at Ludwig-Maximilians University (LMU) Munich. His career path also includes roles as an Assistant at the III. Medical Department of the Hospital München-Schwabing and the Research Group Diabetes in 1983, and as a Fellow (DFG fellow) at the Joslin Diabetes Center, Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA, from 1982 to 1983.

🔹Prof. Häring's journey in the medical field began in the late 1970s, working as an Assistant at the Institute for Diabetes Research and the III. Medical Department of the Hospital München-Schwabing. He completed his doctorate at LMU Munich in 1977 and gained valuable international experience as a Medical Assistant at the Hospital München-Schwabing and the Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, USA, from 1976 to 1977. Prof. Häring's academic foundation was laid during his medical studies in Freiburg and Munich from 1969 to 1975.
