🔹Prof. Dr. med. Joachim Spranger's journey in the field of medicine has been marked by notable achievements and academic milestones. Born in Cologne/Porz in 1970, he began his educational path by graduating from Aloisiuskolleg, Bonn-Bad Godesberg, in 1989. He subsequently embarked on his medical education at Ruhr-University Bochum, where he studied Human Medicine from 1990 to 1996.

In the subsequent phase of his career, from 2000 to 2007, he assumed the role of Research Associate at the German Institute of Human Nutrition Potsdam and in the Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Nutritional Medicine at Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Campus Benjamin Franklin.

🔹In 2008, his remarkable contributions to the field were acknowledged with an appointment to a Heisenberg Professorship in Preventive Diabetology at Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin. Dr. Spranger's ascent continued with his appointment to the prestigious W3 Chair in Endocrinology at Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin in 2011. For over a decade, from 2011 to 2022, he served as the Director of the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism, including the area of Lipid Metabolism, at Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin.

🔹His dedication to education and research has further propelled him to his current role as the Dean and Executive Board for Science at Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, starting in 2023. Prof. Dr. med. Joachim Spranger's exceptional career is a testament to his commitment to advancing the field of medicine and endocrinology.
